Some of you may have noticed that the last few submissions have been related to Middle-Earth.
There's a good reason for that.
I've started a new blog, with my brother, called "Field Guide to Literary Creatures," as we both have always been absolutely inspired by and drawn to the fantastic creatures that haunt the pages of literature. Sometimes we never get to see these creatures, but our imaginations create them in our mind's eye.
I see this as a chance to do two things:
1) share the amazing books, novels, and short stories that I have loved and grown up with
2) share my art and the creatures that live in my mind

. . .and when you're done, go grab a cup of tea, a blanket, and a good book, and get lost in another world.

New Year, New Beginnings
The new year is here.
Lots of things have come and gone, but the new year is for new beginnings.
I've decided to try and challenge myself to draw almost everyday and try to get a new series going on a weekly basis.
But I do have to finish another series as well. Hopefully that will happen very soon. The initial drawings are already to go, it's now just a matter of working on them digitally. It's taken some time, especially with the holidays, to get those images ready to go.
I also have a very distinct way of working on projects. If something I'm working on doesn't feel right, I usually don't work on it much longer. That's not to say it ge
Continued Series
I had so much fun doing the first set of Muppet/Monster Mash-ups that I think I'm going to do some more.
I was afraid the inspiration had left for some new ones, but it came back full swing. Having Halloween just pass helped, as I re-watched a ton of my favorite old B&W films. I think I'm ready to tackle some more! They might come slowly, but you can bet I'll be working on them.
I never force myself to make the mash-ups work, they just manifest themselves in odd moments. Which is great!
So be ready for some more Muppet/Monster mayhem!
. . . and some more obscure Muppet moments in poster form.
Sort of approximately how it happened.
I thought it was about time to start displaying my work somewhere. So here it is! Hopefully I'll be able to continue to upload my work as it comes along while also uploading past projects that have lingered on my computer and not found a home.
The inaugural images I posted are part of a series of images I was inspired to create of the Haunted Mansion - one of the classic attractions at Disneyland. I love the Muppets and this match seemed like one made in heaven. The Mansion is already a great attraction, but what if the Muppets took over? Get ready for a swinging wake!
